Chingay50 Mini Floats
Together with PAssionArts, Chingay50 will present 17 Chingay50 Mini Floats conceptualised by local community artists, art groups and PA Balloon Sculpting Interest Groups, infused with local GRC characteristics. From November to December 2021, over 1,400 residents attended various art workshops to co-create these art installations and Mini Float making, facilitated by artist, PA Grassroots Organisations, Community Arts and Culture Clubs (CACCs), youth networks and interest groups.
Time Carousel
Aljunied GRC and Hougang SMC with artist Justine Loke
The Carousel evokes joyous childhood memories. Time Carousel features horses, sun, moon and hourglass of different shapes and colours co-created by about 150 residents from Aljunied GRC and Hougang SMC over 10 workshops. It symbolises the unity of Singaporeans as we overcome challenges while moving forward together.
The Golden Tomato
Ang Mo Kio GRC, Kebun Baru and Yio Chu Kang SMCs with artist Salihin Jaafar
The Golden Tomato takes a spin on the word “Ang Mo Kio” which means tomato in Hokkien. This installation showcases the diversity and vibrancy of the heartland through the different landmarks and flora and fauna. Some 100 residents from Ang Mo Kio GRC, Kebun Baru and Yio Chu Kang SMCs came together to co-create the installation over 14 workshops.
Circle of Life
Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC and Marymount SMC with artist Fadhlin A.G
Circle of Life represents the continuity of life; of how there’s truly no end or beginning. About 135 residents from Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC and Marymount SMC filled the recycled Compact Disks with their fondest memories over 5 workshops. The bright light illuminating the artwork personifies security, warmth and hope.
Emerge Stronger Together
Chua Chu Kang GRC and Hong Kah North SMC with artist Tay Swee Siong
Inspired by the Singapore two-dollar boat series design, Emerge Stronger Together symbolises our nation’s resilience in overcoming challenges and striving to build individual homes balancing work, life and play. About 110 residents from Chua Chu Kang GRC and Hong Kah North SMC co-created this installation over 7 workshops.

Sunflowers symbolise joy and happiness. Joyful Field of Sunflowers expresses appreciation to all Singaporeans and frontline workers whose resilience and strength have shone through to uplift others during this difficult period
Transformation - We Have Come A Long Way
Holland-Bukit Timah GRC and Bukit Panjang SMC with artist Amruthaa Kalaiselvan
Transformation - We Have Come A Long Way represents the Singapore journey from the time of Sang Nila Utama to Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles to the modern Singapore. It features prominent landmarks such as the Merlion, Singapore Flyer and many more. The installation is co-created by 45 residents from Holland-Bukit Timah GRC and Bukit Panjang SMC over 4 workshops.
Branches of Dreams
Jalan Besar GRC and Potong Pasir SMC with artist Muhammad Faizal Bin Amir
Our island’s iconic landmarks and orchids are brought to live using traditional Batik art in Branches of Dreams. The water feature which symbolizes the Singapore River is an integral part of the GRC. The installation is co-created by some 60 residents from Jalan Besar GRC and Potong Pasir SMC over 4 workshops using recycled materials to raise public awareness on the importance of upcycling.
Enchanting Mushroom City
Jurong GRC, Bukit Batok and Yuhua SMCs with PA Balloon Sculpting Interest Groups
Enchanting Mushroom City captures one’s imagination by weaving fantasy elements with the wonders of nature. A life-size fairy reveals a charming mushroom garden scene as a metaphor for the community to appreciate the harmony in nature and strive towards our dream to build a green and beautiful city in nature.
Progressive Green Singapore
Marine Parade GRC, MacPherson and Mountbatten SMCs with artist Mona Malhotra
Progressive Green Singapore is a visual representation of a ‘Progressive’ Singapore. The bamboos in the centre of the installation symbolises strength, growth and resilience. Flowers made from traditional fabrics from different races signifies Singapore as a melting pot of multiple cultures. This installation is co-created by about 90 residents from Marine Parade GRC, MacPherson and Mountbatten SMCs.
Sky’s the Limit. Be the Sun that Lifts Everyone Up
Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC with artist Jesse Leong
Sky’s the Limit. Be the Sun that Lifts Everyone Up symbolises our residents’ aspiration, positivity and hopes for success. “Sun Catchers” hand drawn by residents represents their well wishes and is a true exemplification that together, we can lift everyone up and overcome hurdles. About 80 residents from Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC co-created this installation over 4 workshops.
Thriving Heart to Heart
Nee Soon GRC with artist Teo Huey Ling
Thriving Heart to Heart features 5 main heart shapes representing the 5 divisions in Nee Soon GRC. This is enhanced by a sea of glowing hearts at its’ bottom to deliver uplifting and well-being messages through the personality of each heart and transmit festive cheers to all. This installation is co-created by about 95 residents from Nee Soon GRC over 7 workshops.
Foodie Birdie
Pasir Ris – Punggol GRC and Punggol West SMC with artist Cherie Ng
Singapore is a renowned food paradise. Food Birdie showcases the wide variety of food from different cultures and enjoyed by many. About 135 residents from Pasir Ris – Punggol GRC and Punggol West SMC co-create the installation over 9 workshops using expired laminates, used bottlecaps, old t-shirts and fallen twigs.
Upon Our Wings We Soar
Sembawang GRC with artist Dzulkarnaen
Upon Our Wings We Soar symbolises the youths, who are the future of Singapore! The extended wings, together with important attributes of courage, resilience, kindness, teamwork and harmony, signifies that Singapore will soar to greater heights and emerge stronger as ONE. About 20 residents from Sembawang GRC co-created the installation over 2 workshops.
Singapore DNA
Sengkang GRC with artist Dr Kho Choon Joo
Singapore DNA is inspired by the DNA structure made up of hereditary material and symbolises our nation moving forward with zest, passion, and determination while reminiscing in the GRC’s past as a fishing village. About 150 residents from Sengkang GRC co-created the installation.
Year of the Tiger
Tampines GRC with PA Balloon Sculpting Interest Groups
Ushering in the Year of the Tiger, this balloon sculpture symbolises the courage and strength of families that bond together and strength in which Singapore emerge stronger, with new hopes and beginnings.
Co-Exist
Tanjong Pagar GRC and Radin Mas SMC with artist Didier Ng
The centrepiece of Co-Exist features a huge butterfly which represents the flourishing nature in our tiny but mighty city. The installation is created with an infusion of upcycled and natural materials. Only together, can we exist. Some 60 residents from Tanjong Pagar GRC and Radin Mas SMC co-created the installation over 8 workshops.
Rainbow Tree
West Coast GRC and Pioneer SMC with artist Lee Yun Ting
Rainbow Tree is inspired by the Rainbow Eucalyptus Tree which sheds its outer bark to reveal bright green inner bark that matures into rainbow hues of blue, purple, orange and maroon tones. It signifies Singaporeans’ resilience and determination to overcome adversity to achieve a more positive and brighter future. The installation is co-created by about 150 residents from West Coast GRC and Pioneer SMC.
